Avalon Market Day

A great Avalon event happens this weekend, and the weather is forecast fine.
Question: Do I have to eat at every food stall to fulfill my quest?

Eating at every stall at Avalon Market Day - Breakfast

It is the best and the worst day to come to Avalon.

Crowds, no parking, brown bombers issuing parking tickets ...

versus

a peachy late spring sticky day, funky music and a strolling beach-attired crowd.

I aim to eat something at every food stall along the way.

See how I go.

I am confident as I am packing an appetite as I approach the first stall.

The first stop is the Baklava tent. A small finger of baklava starts the day well, except my fingers are quite sticky, bad for the camera.

Homemade iceblocks, just what I feel like, the boysenberry and cream is the pick of the maker, so that's the one for me.

These artisan pops are made by this enterprising duo whose range includes alcohol pops (not on sale here).

Next is a Turkisk Gozeme, make fresh by loving hands (if a bit sweaty).

Next is a morsel of Hungarian pastry.

Walnut Strudel (Beigli), definitely needed a dollop of fresh cream.

The guy at the Wagyu beef stall was telling rubes that the marbling fat in the beef was full of Omega 3 and was actually very healthy, oh well he must be right, here goes,

A tasty piece of Wagyu sausage, mmm... this challenge is a piece of cake.
Bring on the next stall...

To be continued ...

Eating at every stall at Avalon Market Day - Lunch

This is a continuation of my quest to eat at every stall at Avalon Market Day, so far I have not passed a stall that I didn't eat at. Even if it was just a sample!

Feeling a bit full, time for a refreshing homemade lemonade, add your own sugar.

Pouring a long cool glass of lemonade, a bit bitter but it tastes real, it has pips!

Time to step up to the plate, here is a serious sausage.

Brot & Wurst - German Small Goods.

I ask for their best and order their special, a beef and pork bratwurst with sauerkraut and mustard.

Someone handing out free cupcakes in an attempt to entice me to join Palm Beach Sailing Club, just what I don't need ... a free cupcake. I feel a little ill. The cupcake and bratwurst don't mix well.

Eating at Avalon Market Day - Tea time

Another Bratwurst Stall .. another Hut Dog, groan.

Some sweet farm fresh strawberries, have some but take some home ... phew.

Dutch pancakes and cream. Bite sized and perfect. But I am in trouble ...

On no - Italian Flat bread. Delicious but I am ...finished! No more food please.

Market Day -the uneaten

The following are some of the stalls I missed gorging on. I failed.

Indian Curry - no way. My body is a Taj Mahal.

Another bloody Golzeme stall, I already feel like a Thanksgiving turkey.

Mr Wippy - queue is too long.

Pork Buns, in this heat, are you kidding.

Even the Police are tempted here, Mexican meat.

Japan Cakes, Sayonara.
